The Christmas Party
I didn’t do much in my spare time. I was either at work, studying, eating or sleeping.
When I was at the hospital a few days ago I was persuaded to go to the annual christmas party. Although I was overjoyed at going for the first time, I was also pretty nervous; I was never the sociable one, always content with my own company.
I looked in my wardrobe now, trying to decide whether I had anything to wear to a party. Since I worked as a nurse, I lived in comfy, green scrubs; I don’t think I owned anything suitable.
I rifled through my drawers, finally pulling out a beige chiffon blouse I forgot I had. It would have to do. Paired with black skinny jeans it didn’t look too bad, and I was pleased I had managed to find something.
I took a deep breath.
I promised to meet my colleagues at the party so grabbed my keys and headed out the door. I looked up, my favourite thing to do outside at night, and saw my favourite constellation, Orion. Its brightest star winked at me.
