First Line Friday is a weekly feature that I now love to take part in.

It is hosted by Wandering Words.

What if, instead of judging a book by its cover or by its author, we judged the book by its opening lines?

Here is how it works:

– Pick a book off your shelf and open to the first page.

– Copy the first few lines without giving the book away.

– Reveal the book.

I would like to use these posts to reveal books on my TBR in the hope that I can find my next great read!

Here we go:

There is blood under my fingernails. I wonder how many of my people I’ve killed this time.

I thrust my hands into the barrel beside the stables. The ice-cold water bites at my skin, but the blood clings. I shouldn’t bother, because it will all be gone in an hour anyway, but I hate this. The blood. The not knowing.

A Curse So Dark And Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer

Since this is a retelling of Beauty and the Beast, I am amazed that I haven’t read it yet. It’s sequel looks amazing so I really need to get to this soon!!

Have you read it yet? What did you think? Let me know in the comments šŸ˜ƒ
